The Schizophrenic Keyboard

Primarily a "Learning Director" assignment, the Schizophrenic Keyboard is a setting of four different scenarios with a piano keyboard. The project was an exercise in utilizing a somewhat less common interaction interfaces (a piano keyboard), while simultaneously subverting the user's expectations about what will happen when s/he interacts with said interface.

The project is relatively self-explanatory; the user sees a small piano keyboard and can press a key to make something happen. Hitting "next" or "prev" takes the user on or back to another facet of the keyboard's schizophrenic personality.schizokeys-1.gif

Thing is, it's never quite what the user thinks will happen. Just because it looks like a piano keyboard doesn't mean it's going to be producing musical tones.schizokeys-2.gif
